In the PING Rapture V2 Fairway Wood, the density and shape of the tungsten sole plate positions the CG (center of gravity) for higher launching, longer flying shots. The concentration of the 61-gram tungsten sole plate, which represents 34% of the club head's mass, allowed PING engineers to move the CG location lower and farther from the face for increased launch and lower spin.
The shallow face and wider sole of Rapture V2 Fairway's large, stainless steel head ensures stability and forgiveness while producing a high trajectory. Its three-part construction combines the tungsten sole and stainless steel body with a plasma-welded, machined steel face to increase ball speed for greater distance.
If your tired of fighting inconsistant drivers (I've been through 5 in the last year) and realized I can't square the face up with a 45-46 inch shaft. Why not find the largest profile 3-wood for driving with a 43 inch shaft. Makes sense. Finally fiund the original Ping Rapture fairway wood. A massive 229cc head made of all titanium. Downside is it may be to big to hot off the ground. Doesn't matter to me, because this is basiclly my driver. Great club off the tee.
